Looking through our readings, I wanted to read more into Augustine which allowed me to grasp more knowledge in his background and his past works especially in relation to perception and religion. In the beginning, with his view of religion, Augustine believed that the soul was the key to goodness, and that faith was the keeper of the soul. He truly believed that without a God, there lies no faith, and without faith, there lies no soul, and without a soul lies no goodness. His personal example of his troubled youth portrays this theory vibrantly as he was not close with faith upon his early years. It is revealed that upon his conversion, faith saved his soul, and that upon his religious confession, he relieved himself of evil and its doings to rid himself of evil voids. Together, this outside reading helped promote the individuality and expression of one's inner soul searching.
