The ancient Greeks were fascinated with the human body. Numerous sculptures and paintings were made depicting the beauty of human beings. Athletes were watched in arenas and the audience marveled at there intense beauty of their bodies. I wondered if we had an equivalent of that in today's society, and if we still marveled at the human body.
I thought about it and I definitely think that this is still a major thing in today's society. We have magazines and pictures all over the internet defining what beauty is to our culture. Athletes today are still watched and marveled at in the same manner as well. Huge amounts of people attend sporting events with the same astonishment that was thought of back in ancient Greek times. The human body is still a huge aspect to what is considered beautiful.
