Cultural Relativism
In a reading I did for my other philosophy class that I am taking, it talked about cultural relativism. This is the notion that each culture can have different ideas about the world and that be okay. Cultural relativists believe that different societies across the world can have different ideas about what makes up world, and have different belief sets. I think this is a beautiful concept, that there can be different ways of thinking of the world, and a wide range of different beliefs. I believe that there is beauty in diversity, and that different ways of thinking is an amazing thing. I would never want everything to be the same or to never experience different cultures. That is one of my favorite things about traveling, is getting to experience the culture while being in that specific place. I would for sure fall under the category of being a cultural relativist, I don't think one specific culture or society can say how everyone else should live, or the rights and wrongs of the world.
