Is religion necessary?

With this topic, a journal reveals several different types of answers, and basis it off of the writer itself. There is no single answer, and reviewing it back to the philosophers we have studied religion is arguably an integral part of human life and their pure existence. This topic winds up everything that each of these blogs have talked about, with morality being the basis for good, happiness resulting in making good decisions, and the fact that faith keeps evil away from the soul. Together, they represent a broad and unique example of how humans are co-dependent on a faith or belief. The idea that our beliefs run the world I think is a true statement because we all make decisions usually in the best interest of either ourselves, or someone else. We rely on a higher authority to provide us advice and a logical path that us physical drones should follow. Van Der Leeuw saw that the idea that religion was an integral part of daily life was a deciding factor in acting for the better or worse. Together, I think that human's require something to keep their minds straight, and whether or not the belief may be true, it is something that occupies their thought process, therefore making life equal and worthwhile.
